This isn't just about weight loss, it's about being healthy and overcoming even sickness and/or depression, heck even addictions can be cured with this way of life. I owe my changes to my successfulness of quiting smoking. I have been smoke free for about 2 years!!! Hooray!!! I am so very proud of myself, and for those of you who have or are trying to kick this you know how exiting that truly is!! I guite smoking after doing it for almost 15 years, and for trying to quite for a total of 10 years. That is right I figured out one day that I had been trying to quite for about 10 years. I would quite for about 2-3 months and then start again, just could not stay clear. Even after being pregnant for 9 months with out smoking and then going back to it after that. The main trigger was seeing my father ( a smoker for over 50 years, started when he was in the Korean war) unconcious and in a ER bed, with a man standing over him with a "breathing bag" litterally breathing for him. This was about 4 years ago. This was the start of the final stages of his battle with major emphazima, COPD and diabetes, kidney failure and heart disease. He battled this for about 3 more years, and I watched him die in his home in June of 2009. My point is this is the initial seed that told me, I don't not want to suffer this way, I do not want to have my girls have to watch me go through this!!... Period. It will not happen... so thus brings me to this point!!
Let me tell you if your trying to quite, you need to take a look at your diet. Its those toxins in your body that is making you continue to want those cigarettes. it has nothing to do with will power. Oh yes you have to want to quite but your body is addicted to it cause of the other crap that is in all of the foods your eating. (Let me tell ya I used to love it, It relaxed me, it was social, even just the thought of a long drive with a full pak of cigs would a great thought for me. Yikes..). You need to switch it up, and get it out man. All the processed, hidden sugars, chemicals and pesticides in your food is keeping a person from being able to quite successfully.( I don't want to get into how its a conspiracy cause you will think I am crazy, but maybe you will hear that later in my blog as I get my facts straighter.) I will testify this to the end. If I was still eating over all regular food from the regular stores, I would still be smoking too. Just a side note the hardest thing for me to conquer was going out with my best friends, ( all smokers by the way) and being able to have some drinks and not want to light up by the end of the evening. note if you need to stop socializing for a while to get a hold on this, then do it. Stop Smoking, it will kill you, and it won't be pretty!! I still have the vision of my big strong father( who was always 250-260 lbs, over 6 feet tall,)lying in a bed pale as a ghost, weak, eyes sunk in, gasping for air, then loosing the battle and seeing a the body bag zipped up over his head. Please do not make your children watch that!! You must change it. If you don't smoke then tell someone who does to read this.

Vitalize Your Life
Today was our first class of the Vitalize your life class, change, experience, or challenge what ever you want to call it. It was great. I am so exited to be part of this. Natures Gardens is sponsoring this whole thing.
So my goal for it is to loose the weight. I have an overall goal of 50 lbs. I want to also make sure that I can run in 5k in the spring with my associate Lisa. I am so pumped up I can't stand it!!!
So they had us write down somethings we want to add to our lifestyle that will better us. So when we went over the points of living a healthy lifestyle, I was so proud to find that I had all but 4 or 5 of them not checked off. There were about 20. So I am doing pretty darn good I guess. Now it just needs to show. I am one of those people who have been on so many diet roller coasters and gained and lost so much that my body is all confused....I think. I just have these fat cells that love to be fat. and when I go on a diet and cut calories, I think they freak out and hold on for dear life.
So I must exercise to see any type of progress. There fore this is my main goal. I have do my "Slim in Six" work out at least every other day. I just have to. So each day I must get up by 5:30 am to do my work out.
I also vowed to "add" the energy drink that they recommended. It's really yummy!!
I am pretty much a vegetarian for the most part. I have not had meat for about month now. ( I had some chicken at the Olive Garden about two weeks ago and wished I hadn't) I still have a little cheese here and there, but for the most part I am vegetarian, I am so proud of myself!!!I still do have bread though. But only about 2-3 servings per day. I have grains too, like rice, quinoa, and cous cous...yum yum. I have the noodles occasionally. My favorite thing right now is Hummus!!! I so love it!!! I love hummus sandwiches, hummus, veganaise, and lettuce, onion and sea salt! Best ever. I like to put lots of veggies on it too!!! yum yum!!
My next post will be my before picture and my group picture of our group who is doing the program.

MY first Day in The Raw!!
Today is the first day I have officially entered the world of a Raw Diet.
Thanks to my good friends at Nature's Garden, also, Zu Zu's cafe, and Livn Cuisine. ( These company's are all owned by the same family.) Amazing bunch of people!
This is my quest to healthier living, weight loss and happiness!! Yes this is all possible by changing your diet. I know all this valuable information, so it is now time for me to be living proof of it. I want to practice what I preach, even though I try not to preach. That is because I don't practice it enough and I am about 50 lbs over weight. So for me to preach this stuff would be ridiculous.
So today I learned how to make Almond Milk. I love, love, love almond milk. I love rice milk, but love almond milk better. You should see the strange reactions that I get when I tell people that I use it instead of cows milk. I have even gotten a " eeeewww gross" Well here is what I have to say to that.
Ok so I am going to take a yummy nut in its natural form of right off the tree and grind it up and use the liguid that comes out of it for my cereal witch already has nuts and almond clusters on it....Hmmmmmm your right that is way more digusting than consuming the milk of a different specied animal, that is originally meant for it's own young.
That would be like us giving our breast milk to a calf....
I grew up on a dairy farm, so let me paint a picture of how it really all happens. Hmmm the cows udder/ teats is where the milk comes from... the udder is on the underside of the cow....cow gets tired... Cow lays down, cow lives in barn...cow does not always have clean beds to lay in....I think you get the idea. Please do not be offended if your a farmer, cause I too am a farmers daughter and was very proud to grow up with a hard work ethic, but I also realize that not everything we were instilled with as a child is always the best.
There is nothing wrong dairy, in fact it does have a lot of good things about it. I love cheese and always will. I love ice cream, I just don't like the cows milk.
SO my point is that if your going to say "eeeeewwwww" to almond milk or anything that anyone may be eating...and not asking you to enjoy with them, think before you speak. K I am done on my soap box now. LOL.
So anyway, I was super exited when I learned how easy it is to make almond milk and to make shakes that my children will love too.
This morning we made a strawberry, bannana almond milk shake. I think my daughters exact words were..... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
